Question: I am receiving a "Faulting Application_Faulting Module" error message; what do I do?

Answer:

The crash is occuring in an NVidia FIREWALL module. TOPO! on startup tries to check for updates on the web, which leads to the crash. Microsoft XP Service Pack 2 includes a firewall, and that is the one we recommend.

1. Run Microsoft Update, and update your OS to the very latest.

2. Disconnect from the Net.

3. *** Following NVidia instructions on their web site, disable the NVidia firewall (if necessary, remove it, or re-install and dont enable it).

4. Following Microsoft instructions, enable their firewall.

5. Update your Virus software and any other software to ensure your PC is protected

6. Scan your computer for viruses, mal-ware, and spy-ware.
(You may be able to find help doing this on the Net).

7. Try other programs (web browsers or games that access the net) to see that your network configuration is correct.

You can only run ONE firewall, and we recommend the latest Microsoft firewall.
