  <response>1. Uninstall TOPO! 4 from Control Panel's 'Programs and Features'
 
2. Then delete the 'C:\Users\Public\TOPO!' folder (backing up any .tpo map files if you've saved anything there that you created in TOPO!)
 
3. Install to SUGGESTED INSTALL LOCATION: 'C:\Program Files\TOPO!'
 
4. Change the security permissions on the TOPO! folder to allow full access to the 'Everyone' account.

            1. Browse on My Computer to locate the folder where TOPO! is installed (usually 
"c:\program files\topo!").
 
2. Right-click on the TOPO! folder, and choose Properties...
 
3. On the Security tab, click the Edit... button. This should open a Permissions for 
TOPO! window.
 
4. Click the Add... button, type Everyone into the text box, then click OK.
 
5. Highlight this group called Everyone, and click the Allow checkbox next to Full 
Control.
 
6. Click the Apply button, and then click OK to close each dialog window.

When downloading the 4.5.0 upgrade, first save the file to your desktop, close TOPO!, open the file on your desktop and run it.  When you restart TOPO!, verify the upgrade was successful by clicking on the &#8216;Info&#8217; tab from the menu bar, and selecting &#8216;About TOPO!&#8217;.
