dxdiag report or System Profile * what's this

A detailed report about your computer’s operating system and hardware configuration can help diagnose problems.

On a Windows PC, you can create a DirectX Diagnostic (DxDiag) report by following these steps:

  1. Type “dxdiag” (without the quotes) in the Windows (Start menu) > Run… (or Start Search) edit box, and press the Enter/Return key.
  2. Click the “Save All Information” button at the bottom of the DirectX Diagnostic window, and save the text file to your hard drive (somewhere easy to locate, such as on the Desktop).
  3. Click the ‘Browse…’ button on this bug report form and choose the text file created in step 2 to attach it.

On a Mac, you can create a System Profile report by following these steps:

  1. Choose the “Apple > About This Mac” menu item.
  2. Click the “More Info…” button.
  3. Choose the “File > Save As” or “File > Export” menu item to save the text file to your hard drive.
  4. Click the ‘Browse…’ button on this bug report form and choose the text file created in step 3 to attach it.
